5 Apps That Promote Creativity

Aug 25,2014 | Posted in Technology by Miguel Azcona

Determining what tools or skills that promote creativity can be challenging; do you focus on problem-solving? Drawing? However, some of the more trusted factors that promote creativity are collaboration, modeling, dynamic tools, and confidence. There are various ways to build on these factors for elementary students, and today, one of the best ways to do that is by using technology. Here are several apps that will inspire creativity:

Book Creator for iPad:
The simple way to create your own iBooks, right on the iPad. Read them in iBooks, send them to your friends, or submit them to the iBooks Store. Ideal for children’s picture books, photo books, art books, cook books, manuals, textbooks, and the list goes on. Users can be as creative as they want and with ways to share their stories with many others, they can become inspired to create more than one best-selling text!
Comic Life:
The Most Powerful Photo Comic Creation App. Everything you need at your fingertips: speech balloons, photo filters, comic lettering, templates, shapes, shadows and effects. This app is designed to let users create comic books with the use of many different sources. This makes reading fun, because students read and create their own stories but it also allows them to incorporate what they want into the story.
Play Time Theater:
In this curious theater you get to pick from a cast of rag doll actors, lots of props and different sceneries. Make up the story as you go, inspired by absurdly funny things happening around you. No rules, no end, no script. Just play and unleash your child’s fantasy. The possibilities are endless.
Pirate Scribble Kidoodle:
In this app your child follows Oscar and Josephine on an adventure filled with bumbling pirates, hidden treasure, and their very own pirate ship. Your child gets to draw their own characters and props, which get implemented into the story itself. There are no lines that the kids have to stay in between, they create their own, and because it is digital they get to save drawings and delete them and start over as many times as they want.
Faces iMake – Right Brain Creativity:
This app allows your child to create faces and figures. It is a tool for creating collages using pictures of every-day objects. The app includes 5 videos lessons on creativity, a gallery of 20 inspirational images, and a music player which allows music to be played while creating.
It’s easy for children to turn on the television and become inspired by the things they watch, but its more productive to turn on an application and let them develop their own creativity. These are just a few of the apps that can help kids on their creativity journey. Do you know of any great apps that promote creativity?
